TURNING FLIP-FLOP POLLUTION INTO FUNCTIONAL PRODUCTS TO PROMOTE CONSERVATION OF OCEANS
We have been running this product since opening the KARYBU Boutique on Tinos 2010 and the joy and conviction has not faded; it is a wonderful sample of a product that is functional, has a great design and helps in different aspects; since 2005 this production in Kenya was cleaning up over 1,000 tonnes of flip-flops from the Ocean and waterways in Kenya, it provides steady income to over 150 low-income Kenyans and it contributes over 10% of the revenue to marine conservation programmes.
